Soto Zen Tochoji TemplePDF DOWNLOAD

The history of Tochoji goes back to the Bunroku era (1592–1596). Opened initially in 1594, the current building was completed in 1989 at the beginning of the Heisei period (1989–2019), to commemorate the temple’s 400th anniversary. The unique temple precinct weaves modern architectural rationalism with traditional design, and the striking Bunyukaku pavilion is the first temple building in the world to receive PHI Low Energy Building certification. Consider the Hondo Room and the Shoin Room for business meetings, cultural promotion activities, or zen meditation.
